Nick's Glass Tinting

Their service is guaranteed for life. I don’t know if I’ll have the car that long, but it’s good to know that if anything goes wrong with the tint, it will be replaced at no cost.

I did some research before going there and most shops charge about the same for the titnt job, but other places only guaranteed their work for 1, 5 or 7 years, and the prices increase with the number of years the work is guaranteed.

If you are looking for a place to tint your windows I would recommend this place.

They didn’t try to play games by offering different types of tint… They just assured me that they always use the best and just wanted to know how dark I wanted to go. They took a little longer than they quoted me, which was fine because I knew they weren’t rushing. I was the last car for the night and the stayed late to make sure it was done right.

The price was right, it looks great and has a lifetime guarantee… I’m happy.

I will say, make sure you have someone to pick you up. There’s no place around to wait comfortably, and you’ll want to give them at least 2-3 hours to get it done.

So i found Nicks, and they gave me a great price and did it as soon as i called. Took about and hour, was really respectable, great quality tints, and it really made my car look completely different. Who knew that tints could be soo cool. And it didn’t cost an arm and a leg for it.

If you are looking to spend less than $200 for tints, and want a great job done, then come to Nicks. Im very happy with my experience. And lifetime warranty…Can’t beat that!

So we did. Left the little red mini and wandered around the neighborhood to kill time. Not much to do in the neighborhood, but we grabbed a quick lunch at the Mexican Taco place down the street and walked over to the 99c store to browze and before you know it got beeped just about an hour and a half later — to come pick up the car.

For $190 — we got a very crisp, professional job done. The young Mexican guy who did my windows — seemed very experienced and confident. He assured us that within 2 days the tint would settle and come out looking smooth — and sure enough it did.

My partner brought in his car a couple of weeks later — we had the same guy work on his Mazda and similarly had a good experience.

They offer a lifetime warranty, too, apparently.

i pulled in at about 12.45P without an appointment and there was already one car in the bay that they were working on.  the tint technician said it would be about 25 minutes until that car would be done and then mine would be done another 2 hours after that.

knowing that they usually work faster than their estimates, i popped across the street to mcdonald’s with my kindle so that i could glance over occasionally to monitor progress.

sure enough, 20 minutes later, my car was pulled in, and only 45 minutes after that i walked back and my car was already wrapping up.  an especially quick job, considering all the goofy little windows on a prius.

this time, i selected 30% for the rear, and 50% for the front.  the level of darkness is perfect for me, dark enough to reduce heat and look custom but not so dark as to piss off cops.  nick’s still uses the same high-quality johnson ceramic films, available in 4 tints:  50, 30, 20, and 10.

It sounded like it was a slow day for Nick’s because I called in a few times that morning after a nightmarish 4 hour oil change and they kept saying to stop by anytime. Right when I pulled up, I saw a Scion tC with a pretty sick tint job that was just being finished. I told Nick that I pretty much wanted the same thing, but that I wanted 50% on the front two windows and 20% on the rest (7 pieces of glass total). He said that it was no problem and that I shouldn’t have any problems with the poh-leese with 50% on the sides.

Like Michael M. and the SiMonster, my car was finished in about 45 minutes. I guessed that it’d take about an hour and 15, which Nick said was reasonable, but while I was being nosy and watching them work on my car at the McDonald’s across the street, I saw that they were done in 45 minutes! I walked on over and Nick told me to come over and check it out.

I was thrilled with how it looked, but could definitely see some small bubbles all around from the inside of the car that worried me. I thought I was going to have to live with it, but they told me to give it a few days to let the bubbles go down after the adhesive had some time to bond and evaporate. I thought, “There’s no effing way the bubbles will go down.”

I thought I was going to have to come back.

One day later: Still bubbles…little worried…
Two days later: Still bubbles…very worried… even called Nick. He assured me that it would be fine and if it wasn’t, I could come back. Luckily, he’s very nice.
Five days later: NO MORE BUBBLES! HUZZAH!
(I took the bus for a couple days, so I didn’t actually see days three and four)

The tint is perfect all around. The best part about the ceramic tint is that it’s still very easy to see out of your windows from the interior of the car, but it blocks a lot of sun and is VERY dark from the outside. With 20% all around, my windows make passengers look like silhouettes from the outside, but I have no problems seeing out the sides or the back when changing lanes or parallel parking. I almost think I should have gone 5% on the back windows. The 50% on the driver and passenger side is perfect as well if you want to have a little tint, but no attention from the cops.

Just be patient and trust Nick, the bubbles will go down! And if not, it’s a lifetime warranty. If you just want some solid, high quality black (REAL black, not purple black), ceramic tint, head down to Nick’s and he’ll hook you up.

I dropped the car off and was quoted 2 hours. I got a phone call 45 min later letting me know that the car was ready. I was blown away – the tint looks awesome – gives the car a nice tough feel.

As stated before, the price is perfect. less than $200 for two door windows, two small rear windows and the back window.

I have to recommend them 100 percent. Call ahead and make an appointment – they only have one bay (for now).

I waited a couple weeks before writing this review to see how everything held up and so far I’m impressed. The tint looks great on the car and it was installed quickly and professionally (about an hour), no bubbles or scratches, and they did a good job cleaning the windows after applying the tint.

The only thing that’s keeping my review from being 5 stars is that they left a small gap on the top of my front two windows, maybe a 1/8-1/4 inch. Not a big deal as you can’t see it when the windows are all the way up or all the way down, but it’s noticeable when the windows are partially down.

It takes 2-3 days for the windows to “dry,” but the result was fantastic for the price paid.

It looks great! I wish I went darker on the rear windows but that’s on me, not Nick’s.

I went it on a Saturday and he was able to see my car right away. really nice guy (i called for appt first)

While he was doing that, since there is no where to wait there, I walked down to a nail salon and got a mani/pedi! Perfect. He was done in about an hr.
